A historic red-brick farm that tells the story of Hokkaido’s dairy farming heritage.

Former Machimura Farm in Ebetsu City is a historic farm established by Keitaka Machimura, who played a significant role in the development of dairy farming in Hokkaido. The site preserves red-brick barns, silos, and wooden buildings built during the Taisho era, offering insight into the history of dairy farming since the early days of Hokkaido’s development. Today, the facility is open as a museum, where visitors can learn about the history of the farm and the evolution of dairy culture. There is also a café on-site where you can enjoy soft-serve ice cream and sweets made from locally produced Ebetsu milk. Located about 30 minutes by car from central Sapporo, it is a popular spot to experience Hokkaido’s dairy heritage.
